Create an accessibility statement

Fill in six fields and get a draft with the six items of our template. The text is created in your browser; your details are not sent to us or to anyone else.

The generator

Your details stay in this browser window. Check the generated text before you publish it, especially the compliance status: it is only as good as your own assessment.

The generator only works with JavaScript in this browser window. If JavaScript is switched off or has not loaded, nothing is created and nothing is sent. For questions, write to info@five49.com.

What goes in, and why

Our guide to the EAA explains the six items of our template in detail. In short: compliance status, the standard applied, known limitations with reasons, a contact route, the date of preparation and a note on the enforcement procedure. The generator puts all six together for you.

A note on the status: the generator does not offer full compliance as a status. That statement requires an assessment of all success criteria, which a form cannot check. If you have such an assessment, change the status in the draft yourself. If you do not know, “partially compliant” is more honest than a guess.

What this tool does not do

The generator formats your own details. It does not test your website and says nothing about whether the status you chose is accurate; assessing that remains with you or with a testing provider you commission. Nor does it check which law applies to your offer: for Germany and Austria it names the national transposing act, for every other country it leaves that point open. It is not legal advice and not a declaration of conformity.

If you would rather know what can actually be measured on your home page before you enter the status: we scan it for free.

Find out where you stand

We test your home page at no charge with 24 automated checks and reply with the three most severe findings in plain language, each with its location in the HTML and WCAG criterion. No call, no deck. If there is nothing serious, we say so.

Scope of testing

Five49 runs 24 automated, rule-based checks. They look for failures in 15 of the 55 WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA success criteria. Automated checks can find failures but cannot show that a criterion is met. All 55 criteria, including these 15, therefore also need manual review with a screen reader, keyboard and magnification. The result is neither a conformance statement nor legal advice and gives no assurance of any legal outcome. For an assessment of your own situation, consult a qualified lawyer.
